Fertilizer Tank

The Bluedrip fertilizer tank is meticulously designed and manufactured to meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Operating on the principle of quantitative application, this tank ensures accurate and efficient fertilizer delivery.

For optimal results, proper installation, operation, maintenance, and cleaning are essential.

Bluedrip fertilizer tanks offer versatile application options:

  • Continuous Fertilization: Apply fertilizer throughout the irrigation cycle.

  • Controlled Fertilization: Use a controller or computer for precise dosing.

  • Manual Operation: Manually regulate fertilizer application.

To prevent emitter clogging and ensure proper system flushing, it is recommended to apply fertilizer during the initial two-thirds of the irrigation period.Th

General Instructions
Installation
  • Install the fertilizer tank in a suitable location.

  • Connect the fertilizer head (combination valve) (52) to the main valve of the water supply line.

    1. Hose Attachment: Connect the inlet and outlet (5) flexible hoses (½") to the fertilizer head.

    2. Pressure Relief: If pressure control is insufficient, install a pressure relief valve before the fertilizer head.

    Important Considerations:

    • Maximum Operating Pressure: Do not exceed 8 bar (120 psi).

    • Tank Pressure Rating: The fertilizer tank is designed to withstand a maximum pressure of 10 bar (150 psi).

Operation

1. Irrigation Without Fertilizer:

  • Close valves (53) and (54) then,

  • Open valve (52).

2. Irrigation with Fertilizer:

  • Fertilizer Preparation: Fill the tank with the desired fertilizer through the top filling port (50). Do not exceed 2/3 of the tank's height.

  • Tank Sealing: Close the filling port (50) with the cover (3) and tighten bracket (2) securely using the handle (1).

  • Cleaning: Rinse the tank thoroughly with clean water externally.

  • Drain Plug Check: Ensure the drain plug (11) is closed.

  • Valve Activation: Open the main valve, followed by the fertilizing head valve (52).

  • Inlet/Outlet Adjustment: Fully open the inlet (53) and outlet (54) valves.

  • Fertilizer Head Regulation: Adjust the fertilizer head valve (52) according to the desired fertilization time (refer to the table) and measure pressure loss between points A and B using a pressure gauge inserted into the testing ports.

Periodic Cleaning
Maintenance

Before Cleaning and Storage:

  • Ensure the outlet valve (54) and fertilizer head (52) are securely closed.

Cleaning Procedure:

  • Drain Valve: Open the drain plug (11).

  • Water Rinse: Open the inlet valve (53) and main valve to allow water to flow through the tank and rinse it thoroughly.

  • Internal Cleaning: Ensure all fertilizer residue is removed from the inside of the tank.

  • External Cleaning: Rinse the exterior of the tank to remove any fertilizer traces.

Note for Smaller Tanks: Models 6005 and 6010 (5 and 10 liters) do not have a drain plug. These tanks can be cleaned by rinsing them under a tap or using a separate hose.

NOTE:
  • Handle Lubrication: Apply a layer of grease to the handle (1) threads annually to ensure smooth operation.

  • Protective Coating Maintenance: Promptly repair any damage to the protective coating. Before applying the protective paint, thoroughly clean the damaged area with a wire brush.

Fertilization duration is determined by the measured pressure loss, ensuring accurate and efficient nutrient delivery.

The provided fertilization times are general recommendations for water-soluble fertilizers. Actual fertilization durations may vary based on field conditions.

  • Column 1: Represents the pressure difference between the inlet (A) and outlet (B) of the fertilizer head.

  • Columns 2-5: Indicate the estimated fertilization time in hours until the fertilizer concentration becomes negligible.

Ultimately, the optimal fertilization time is determined by factors such as the type of fertilizer, the specific crop, and your irrigation experience.
